I miss art class shenanigans.
This was done by my graduating class of 2010.
Never expected the video to get that many views and it’s always fun to look back on it.

So back in elementary school during winter we walked to a retirement home to talk with the residents and sing Christmas carols, so we got to the retirement home and we are all dressed up nice with button down shirts and dress pants and we were greeted by the elderly people and we all sit down and talked with them and they told us all sorts of stories about war and Vietnam and a bunch of other stuff and this room we where all in was extremely hot but none of us really complained about it so we just went on with our day talking to the elderly then it was time to sing so all of my peers and I gather in one part of the room and the music teacher was sitting on the ground telling us what to sing and so we start to sing different Christmas songs and we’re sing jingle bells and half way through the song we all hear a loud thud but we ignore it and continue singing then we hear it again and we continue singing and we just keep hearing Thud Thud Thud then after the song was over we look arround and we see like 5 kids just passed out on the ground because the room was so hot, that was probably the funniest memory from elementary school

I’d have to say my favorite sound is a box fan it’s so relaxing

I remember when my whole class used to sing together "We will rock you! " in chorus stomping our feet and banging the desks and clapping our hands together. We used to create a ruckus at school.

Although several years have passed since my school years, I still have memories and one of them is a day school trip to Zakynthos where I had a wonderful time and it was the first time I had traveled without my family and I was with my good friends and classmates

Being at the back of the school bus bluetoothing (2.0) songs to each other with my Sony Ericsson K750. Crazy Frog was one of the songs that comes to mind

I miss the feeling of the first week of school! Getting back into it for the fall semester, seeing your friends after a long summer and going to class seeing new teachers and getting ready for what’s to come for the rest of the year.

I miss the days I woke up, got ready ,about to walk out the door only to find out there is no school because we got a foot of snow, a week later and 2 more feet of snow n obviously still no school!!! “Blizzard of 93 Pittsburgh, PA” … mite not be a funny memory from school but everyday I was off I still spent those days with my friends and classmates, I’ll never forget those couple weeks it was awesome. https://youtube.com/watch?v=asAtm_HevyU&feature=share

One summer during college, I worked at a residence hall while taking a summer course, so every day after class I would bike to the other side of campus to get to work. One day, after class, to my surprise it was raining outside. However, it wasn’t just drizzling, but a full monsoon-level downpour  Since I didn’t have my raincoat, I found a trash bag that I fashioned into a poncho to try to minimize the damage and began my commute.

Unfortunately, that makeshift poncho wasn’t very effective and in addition to the rain, I got splashed by a bus and a couple of cars along the way.

By the time I reached work, I was completely drenched, clothing fully saturated :joy:

When I walked into work, my manager, who had a good sense of humor, laughed at me and then went to his apartment (which was in the residence hall) and got me a dry t-shirt and shorts to wear during my shift.

With that, my favorite sound is the sound of rain because it’s relaxing (especially when you aren’t biking through it in a rush to work) and varies depending on the surface it hits. :cloud_with_rain:

When I was a teenager, I got started running sound for bands and events and became one of the “go to” guys for school events, pep rallies, etc.

I was running sound for an event that had a band playing for about 30 minutes before the speaker would get up on stage and present. As the band was finishing up their first song, I heard something that sounded like feedback (the screeching sound you might hear when a microphone gets too close to a speaker), but instead of it growing in intensity like feedback normally would, it just stayed at the same volume level. As the band finished the first set of music, this high pitch tone continued to ring out. A guy got up on stage and as he was welcoming people, he called me out to tell me there was some feedback (which I was already frantically trying to isolate and fix).

The band cranked back up for their second set and it occurred to me what the sound must have been. But it was too late as the band was already in full swing, and there was no way for me fo communicate with them while they were playing.

IT WAS A TUNER

The bass player had accidentally hit a “tone” button on his tuner while it was in his shirt pocket. That’s why it was staying the same volume and why I couldn’t mute it from the soundboard. As they finished singing and walked off the stage, the bass player exited the room. I breathed a sigh of relief and finally relaxed.

Until about a minute later when I heard the sound slowly start to come back. But it wasn’t coming from the front of the room, it was coming from the stairwell behind me. I raced over and opened the door right as he reached the top step. He starts asking me “Can you not hear that?!” all while I’m reaching into his chest pocket. I pull the tuner out and turn it off. He looked at me with shock and embarrassment.

Needless to say, problem solved. So what’s my favorite sound? Anything that isn’t a tuner or feedback! :joy:

My funniest school memory was when I was on exchange from the UK to the US. I was 15, and was shopping in Target. I thought the bag sealer wax was free lipbalm. So as I was waiting in line, I scooped up some and started putting it on my lips. The cashier, my host brother, and the cute boy behind me started laughing. It was so embarrassing, but it was hilarious for them. My lips didn’t recover for about a week.

My favourite song is All Too Well by Taylor Swift

Indeed. Oh well.

Well, I find a lot of my more funniest stories involves being in a vehicle and school. This is one of those stories.

Me and my sister were both going to the same college. We were driving back home on a country road instead of the main highway.

As we were driving an old junky car in front of us just stopped in the middle of the road. We slammed on our breaks… This heavy set woman in her pajama bottoms and tee shirt jumped out of her car and ran to the front of her vehicle. We thought there was a big rock in the road but soon to realize it was something else.

As she bent over and raised up we realize she had grabbed a roadkill raccoon (that had been there for who know how long). She raised the raccoon to us, smile at us with hardly no teeth and was pointing at her prized catch.

She got back into her car and drove off. Me and my sister, still stopped, looked at each other to verify we saw what we saw and let out a good laugh.

Some good stories, best of luck everybody.

Like @Chiquinho and @The_Professor I’ll sit this one out.

I’m still in school currently (finishing up college) but a favorite memory of mine was in high school when my history teacher was teaching us she happened to say the phrase “stick to the status quo” which for some reason prompted all of the kids in the class to jump up and start continuing the song status quo from the first highschool musical. My teacher was amazed because our actions truly flowed with her talking and none of us had planned it or even looked at each other. It was as if we all just felt the calling of the music, jumped up and started singing. Truly an iconic moment that to this day I honestly still cant believe happened

My memories are so personal
